Lori Cowles sees the big picture without losing sight of the details, using her unmatched organizational skills to keep many different aspects of a project under control. Her ability to articulate a vision for the whole project makes her a skilled presenter at public meetings, where she is instrumental in gathering and integrating community input, communicating vision, and garnering support. Lori’s talents in big-picture-small-picture thinking are well matched to her work in Master Planning and Feasibility Studies, for which she must generate and consider multiple solutions to a design challenge while sufficiently investigating the details of each. For Hanover High School, Lori led an exceptionally thorough community visioning process, which fueled the design of a school anchored by a “town-square” cafeteria and hub, responding directly to a community desire that emerged during the planning process for a school that actively builds community. Lori’s big picture involvement extends to her leadership of the BSA Membership Enrichment Committee and her successful efforts to enrich HMFH’s Cambridge community involvement.
