Steve Millington is an exceptionally disciplined and thorough project manager, appreciated by clients for both his thoughtful design work and his attention to the nuts and bolts issues that matter to them, such as cost decisions, user programming needs, and permitting. The same careful thinking, thorough coordination, and painstaking attention to detail that enables Steve’s successful management of budgets and logistics, also empowers his design work: in Steve’s designs, no line or detail is haphazard. In his more than twenty years with HMFH, Steve has applied his talents to many of the firm’s most successful projects, including The Baldwin School in Cambridge, MA. Steve and the team engaged in two years of community planning and neighborhood discussion, and finally replaced the overcrowded-but-beloved 1916 original with a new K-8 school that preserves the spirit of the original while expanding to serve current educational and community programming needs. The final design delighted users in the community, and was honored with numerous awards, including Walter Taylor Award.
